wrong, karting has always promoted multi-engine racing since its inception. All this one make stuff is relatively recent. By your argument everyone should use the same chassis to stop expensive development of karts so they last longer too.

one make classes are fine for the lower ranks but the pinicle of karting should always be a competition tuners, engine and chassis manufacturers as well as the drivers.
SAME AS EVERY OTHER FORM OF MOTORSPORT

Also, to have a grid of 30 karts all with the same engine none of them will have exactly the same horsepower.
