We had a Tony viper (Italian) in 07 and used it for approx. 20 race meetings Saturday and Sunday with not one crack, including a massive shunt at 3 Sisters that actually bent one of the chassis legs, straightened it and were back in business. Loaned it out for the whole of 08 no cracks. It's still in the garage not having seen a welder. The chassis tubes are more of a D shape now having ridden the curbs as does seem the norm. I personally think that the quality of the tube is to blame on the Storm where the weld has heated it. Where our breaks on the Storm were the tubes were splitting around the welds not that the welds hadn't stuck, although some of the welds do look crap on close inspection.
