Don't forget the human factor in any set up change.
Any set up change is mostly about individual 'feel' and consequently finding the limit by 'feel', some drivers can feel every little change and make the most of it, some don't and probably never will.
On the other hand some drivers can just get in and ring the kneck out of a kart almost regardless of set up.

Bottom line is that until a driver can put in 6 or 10 laps on the same 10th of a second or less, small set up changes like one grade of axle are unlikely to even be visable.
