just a quick one, with lead costing so much these days...20 quid for a 4kg block...i need about 20kg of the stuff, is there any way you can use iron instead...ie dumbell irons...theyre cast, is there any reason you cant use them ie in a crash or fatigue on teh metal etc???

before anyone suggests lead flashing ive tried it today with a blowtorch, but its doing my t!ts in trying to melt lead in the cold when its windy and the naff blowtorch is refusing to work properly!
