That's why you don't have the pinch bolts tight.

The bearings must be allowed to return to their resting place easily when the chassis finishes flexing.

WD40 has not got the film strength when the bearing is under load.

An easy way of cleaning chains thoroughly is to pop it into a Lucozade Sport type bottle with some fuel and shake vigorously.(With the top screwed back on, obviously.)

Fish it out with a hook and it will look brand new!
