Ya I know what you mean about the WDC analagy and in reality it doesn't matter what formula the British Karting Championship itself is fought over. However its important that those participating are the best in the country and the only way to determine that in karting is by qualifying them through the most competitive class. At the moment, that's Rotax. In the past it was 100cc as you said.
