We run an 09 P1 chassis and not had any problems with it.
Majority of honda's around us are P1 and like you say they seem to get results.
I was told to avoid the Zip as its harder to setup - but not tried myself so can't confirm this.

You'll get loads of different views depending on what people run - I've no problem with the P1 and wanted something easy to setup so that we can concentrate on the driver rather than worrying too much about tweaking the setup. I've now got a good baseline dry and wet setup and now work off of this.
