I think it depends on the class...

I think most cadets who race mid pack, but perhaps are not going to win races in the near future, if perhaps at all, would be absolutely made up to pick up a trophy for finishing in, say 8th place.

I doubt that too many seniors would want a trophy however for finishing 8th.......hence we often see so many minor place trophies left behind in the club house after the meeting, as people have left to go home without bothering to attend the presentation to pick them up....

Depends on the class I think......but I do think that a novice trophy is important.....unless of course, there is just one novice running...

I have seen this happen on a few occasions too.
