In any class you find clubs that are strong with particular classes.Rotax, TKM and Formula Blue all have clubs that they are strong at.

Formula KGP is offered to any club that is interested in the concept plus from April to Sept this year if a club has a grid of 10 KGP drivers or more the club will recieve commercial support from us in the form of new tyres for the winner and product vouchers as prizes. We do believe in trying to support clubs but in the end drivers need to enter a race - we can't force them. I have created KGP to offer a choice which I felt and heard from others in karting that was missing. The truth is Karting is my passion and a business second. I love going racing.

PF was where KGP was first showcased and is fairly central to everyone. Maybe this is why the first substantial grids of KGP have appeared there. From small acorns things can grow. I remember that when Rotax first started over 10 years ago that it was in isolated areas, so was TKM back in the 90's - a class develops and so do the clubs.

KGP is not Rotax nor KF2 it is a traditional class that we hope over the next few years people will enjoy driving and racing. Marussia Virgin F1 is backing the catagory of Formula KGP - that means at club level too. We can't force people to buy KGP nor anything else but things don't just magically happen overnight. S1 will give club drivers around the country a chance to see Formuula KGP for themselves and undoubtly a month before a S1 round you will see a KGP race at your track.

Our idea is that people can decide for themselves when they see the KGP class. We are as you will see in the news section of this site offering the opportunity to try out KGP in a club race like this or even a S1 round.

We are trying to co ordinate races so that people that have purchased engines can race, I admit in these early days it will take time for grids to establish - but don't kick a bloke down for trying !

I see you are from Wigan and at some point this year I would be delighted to come to race KGP at Wigan. Rome wasn't built in a day but has lasted an awfully long time - I hope KGP will be the same !

My advice Ade is for hopefully a more substantial grid to enter the race in a couple of weeks at Shenington.
