Personally, I have always simply fitted the seat to give me the most comfortable possible driving position. Then I try the kart. Only if I cannot set the kart up as I want using all the usual adjustments would I consider moving the seat. This may mean having several sets of holes in the seat, but a comfortable driving position is worth time in a long hard race.
