Assuming you are referring to the Rotax booklet gear chart then you have probably noticed that it is sometimes possible to achieve the same ratio using different front and rear sprockets. You can use this to your advantage - sometimes, depending on the gearing at the time it is possible to achieve a 1/2 tooth change by changing both front and rear. Nit-picking maybe but it can be useful.

This does of course depend on you having several clutch drums with different front sprockets on. We keep an 11, 12, 13 & 14 to hand. Most common is probably the 12, but if you went to Wigan you would probably need a 14!

There is a suggested gearing chart on the Lincolnshire Kart Club site (lkrc.uk.com) but as with all advice do not regard it as definitive - you may find you prefer something else.
