I've been through all this myself, back in the 1980's......no internet then, so posting out hundreds of sponsorship proposals.....the financial climate then was poor; today it's even worse! Let me be blunt....almost all sponsorship that you see in motorsport is simply the drivers fathers own business, and where it isn't, it's usually as a result of the drivers fathers contacts/masonic connections......the success rate of "cold calling" sponsorship proposals must be miniscule! But if money is REALLY so tight, why are you racing Super 1 ?? You don't seriously think that, if your father can't afford S1 karting, that you have ANY chance of making it in motorsport, do you?
