1. Don't get to hung up on tyre pressures at the start, it's a bit of a science and I doubt anybody has the perfect answer. Maybe aim for 25 - 30ish if it's cold and damp.
2. Regarding panicking, just don't - most Mums tend to do that for you. Thank God my wife hasn't witnessed the majority of crashes my lad has had - all part of the learning curve!
