I have just purchased a gopro and unfortunately I've had bad experiences with it. It is EXTREMELY picky about the type of memory card you use in it. Even brand name high quality cards make it corrupt footage and stop recording at random.

After discovering this problem I googled it and found that it's a common problem with the gopro :( Check for yourself if you like, google "gopro stops recording"

The contour on the other hand is fantastic. It's what I was using before I purchased the gopro (it was a friends I always borrowed). No problems at all with that one and the picture quality is just the same.

If I had my choice again I would go for the contour, 100%
