I agree with number 2.

I feel te trouble is respect with young drivers. A young driver would always enjoy working with a kid who used to race with 'joe blogs' who the driver has heard of, once the 'kiddie' mechanic makes out he's great because he can talk a good story and the driver has heard of 'joe'.

I think theother aspect is money. A 'young' team would always try to employ a 'kiddie' as a mechanic to pay pennies to maximise profit.

This is foolish in my view. Look at experience of engine builders, over the years the older engine builders such as grice, ogden ect always produce outstanding motors, because they have knowledge and experience. How many of these 'kiddies' could honestly develope a motor to the old boys spec? It's no different for a experienced mechanic.

Maybe it's time for a well deserved advert Mike on here, I'm sure you would get lots of offers
