If you think about the argument I put forward in the first post, a super soft seat will make the fitting/removal of seat stays more noticeable than a stiffer one.

You can fit a super soft seat and stiffen it, and you still have the option of softening it again by removing the seat stays.

In TKM I think it's possibly more a case of people still having soft seats from when they were on the old tyres. I've just fitted a standard rigidity seat in place of a VG, and my lap times have come down.
