After a 6 year absence I'm going to do some non-msa stuff in Snr Max.
I thought I'd get a National B license so that I can maybe do a couple of MSA races next year too. However...
As I haven't held a license since 2006 so apparently I must buy a Go karting pack at £49, sit an ARKS test for £100, have a medical (I'm 45 before I need the license) for £70, and finally buy a license for £34. A grand total of £253 for something that should cost £34! That means I'm not going to do it.
Now I know how to go karting, I don't need a bloody ARKS test, I have a very thorough company medical that far exceeds what is required for the MSA but they won't accept it. Talk about barriers!
Question - I know the ARKs convenor, so might be able to do something there. I can get the medical company to validate the license application form I'm sure, but do I really need the the go karting pack to get the medical certifcate as mentioned on MSA website, ot does someone have a copy of this form I could have without spending £49 for a book of clubs that I know, rules that I know, and driving tips?
Text on website is "If 18 or over and applying for a 'normal' (not Endurance) licence, you must obtain a medical certificate (the form for completion is in the "Starting Karting" pack)."
