It's a bit like buying computer gear - if you buy a the 'bleeding edge', you pay a premium.

Look for the previous homologation from the latest for the chassis / brand you choose and shop around for one of those. The current latest Zip homologation is the Lightning, the Storm came out in about 2009 ( I think), replacing the Blade. I'm not sure about the Project One chassis - they do seem to be popular with the Hondas at cadet level.

It is a good idea to buy a complete package at a sensible price if possible. This will save some money in the long run as all the bits start to add up and they will usually come with some spares.

This time of year people are moving up from cadets. Ask around at your local track or look on the 'market place' on this website for people who are moving up. Alternatively have a look on fleabay - but be careful and always go and look before you buy anything if you can. Preferably try before you buy !
