Hi - I have used Alfano, MyChron 3 & 4. I also repair them all and make sensors for them (www.kart-crazy.co.uk)

In my opinion the Alfano does as much as 90% of people what or need. It tells you your lap times and max revs. However I find the two button control often leads to lossing the data I want to view.
MyChron 3 is great - very easy to use.
MyChron 4 is also good.

However I do think the MyChron 4 head unit has reliability issuses (in my opinion it is not well made for the conditions it works in).
If all you want is basic details buy a used Alfano - for about Ł125. Used MyChron 4s are Ł170+ and much harder to find.
