I have heard 2 very different approaches to wheels from 2 comer super one winning parents. One said only to use the Comer/Top Kart wheels as supplied by Zip - Black for when it's dry w/slicks and the gold ones for when it's wet w/wets. The other said they used to pretty much always use the gold/wet wheels, even in the dry with slicks. This would suggest there is more to this discussion than simply saying I should use any particular manufacturer/offset/width as both are very good drivers but clearly they get their tyres working in different ways. As you already pointed out earlier, testing all this out could be really expensive, so without giving away too much, can you or anyone else tell me, when running at or near the front and the performance gains are mostly in set up and not the pink squidgy thing sat between the steering wheel and seat, what scale would we be measuring improvements or losses? Hundredths/Tenths/Seconds? Also is it fair to say that we might not actually be able to make the "recommended" wheels work as well as another type, as indicated by the aforementioned (albeit nameless) super one driver that used wet wheels in the dry?
