Have you, yet, volunteered to help at club level? You should: you'll get an insight into the the problems of being an official.

Secondly, this IS karting: it's amateur (thank god) and cock-ups happen every week. Raise your focus just a bit from watching your own lad.... look around.... you'll see that the CoC is 'horrid' to EVERYBODY.... not just you and yours.

Now..... in MY day with CoC Reg Deavin and the 'Tiny Tony' at Kimbolton..... then you WOULD have something to complain about... (tongue firmly in cheek!)
