for anyone who has not heard about these just like everything else the market is now being flooded with cheap fake spark plugs.

ngk put out a statement about this after angry customers started complaining about performance and engine damage.

champion and ngk plugs both seem to be affected by this and possibly other major brands too. Never buy what appear to be good deals on plugs and always from trusted suppliers.

visibly these cheap plugs are identical to the originals externally. However the threads tend to be rougher and sharper and the central electrode can be a larger diameter.
If you have a truely original plug placing it side by side with a new one before installing it in your engine can be the best way to spot them. This has been an issue for a few years now and is becoming more common.
