If you are already a front runner in S1 then you will probably not be interested in pooled engines, as you already had good kit. If you are always in the middle to the back then a pooled engine class will look very attractive.

I think it will take off, and create a 2 tier S1. The problem will be, as Nik G said, is if there are a few duff motors in the pool...as Sean Babbington found out in last years world final...he had a slow engine and came nowhere.

It will need very tight quality control, on the motors, to work properly

The best way forward would be do away with the seal, but this will not happen. Sealed engine classes always create higher prices, and a near monopoly on where you can a quick motor from, this is totally wrong
