I think is a positive way of drawing orindary folk into S1/national championships
Lets face it if you don't spend £50K a year in S1 you won't make the top 10 in Rotax( although I'm sure someone will prove me wrong)
Anyway pooled motors puts the emphasis back on the driver and not the wallet. I'm not sure if this series will run on different dates and venues to the 'elite' S1 Otherwise there will be effectively 3 extra classes added to the proceedings. If it is a seperate event then the whole thing could be wrapped up on one day( plus practice day)) further reducing costs. Do you think 'elite' drivers should be barred from the pooled engine event ( ie can't do both) or should it be open to all?
I would imagine the engine hire costs would be around £300 per round + Tyres + Fuel + Entry fee + travel + accommodation + Food + Mechainic + Awning space + damage + beer
