If the engine is outside tolerance, it SHOULD be banned. In reality, they are kept well within tolerance to allow for wear. What's the problem?
It worked well in 100 National for YEARS and you can only DREAM of the scale of the grids.
When I started in 100 National (a LONG time ago) the entry at Kimbolton was HUGE and the class was split into 3 further divisions, C, B and A. You started in C and, if you drove well, you could move 'leagues' to B and finally into 'A'. There were that many entries, they were only allowing 'invited clubs' to race.
Blueprinting was a CHEAPER and FAIRER option than the 'selected and sealed' motors.
