How far forward is he/the seat? That will have significantly more effect on the rear-end delivering too much oversteer.

The weight distribution should be (roughly) between 45% front to 55% rear..... and 40% front to 60% rear.

However, most of this is academic if the tyres are past their best.

Basically, we need to know more before we can give sound advice.
