Consistency of clerking was always thus, that doesn't change, whether the application is consistent again who knows.

Someone said does this mean that existing lap records will stand for ever more, well I never thought much of karting lap records mattered much anyway, with so many subtle variables being fastest on the day or even the session is all that matters.

And I see this track limits thing the obvious development since tracks started reexamining health safety, more so in car circuit racing where great swathes of asphalt has replaced gravel traps or tyre walls, so much so that at Spa in the F1 the old lags remark there's no heavy price to pay for running off at pouhon or Stavelot or blanchimont and the eau rouge/radillion is flat or no longer a corner(s). or huge swathes of new Silverston, or even the exit of paddock hill bend at Brands. Thinking of karting it reminds me of the last corner at Whilton Mill again, when it was bark in front of the wooden pit wall, (or even the exit of the turn1 complex) trying to take these corners (near to or) flat took serious commitment and a deep breath (and was rewarded with great satisfaction), since it was sensibly made more safe with a wide concrete run off, I'm afraid the last corner is just not the same, getting it wrong makes not much difference at all. Going side by side through is not a near kamikaze decision. But with these rules effectively narrowing the track again, while it is still not the test of courage it was, at least it would make it a test of skill and technique again keeping it between the white lines.
