Sounds like you are getting into karting with exactly the right attitude for a family that wants to have loads of fun, meet nice people, and enjoy the sport for what it is. Take your time, and race results will come. As long as you don't become the people that think the results are the be all and end all of the sport, a podium position will just add to something that's already a real pleasure.

You mentioned Formula Renault in an earlier post - I reckon I could do about 35 - 40 years in TKM Extreme for a mid-field F Renault annual budget!
