Should have learnt by now! Ignoring the bits I didn't say, and not being one of the greats lol+++, I feel that if I had my steering straight ahead at that Wombwell 'hairpin' Iwould be proceeding along the tangent and into the pub yard with or without release. I don't understand this bit about ' not having the power to overcome the grip of the loaded outer rear'. What kart has? gearbox perhaps. The issue here as I see it is the torque absorbed by the conflict between inner and outer wheel speeds which without release is not available to accelerate the kart. Release certainly occurs , witness Prior.G , and all karts run high levels of castor ,kpi , and front wheels stuck out on stalks to induce it. Why?
