That makes sense and I would want the same thing if my lad ever got good enough. But people are showing concerns about the expense of travelling to events and someone else has pointed out that super one entries are falling. Another person has said super one is losing credibility as a premier competition. I can say for absolute certainty that I have been put off super one by the costs implied, not the cost of travelling about but the stories about how this kid spent £50k or that kid spent £100k etc and the video which surfaced a while back about how it's impossible to compete at club level in cadets for less than £36k (with a 9 year old just off his black plates) If there was some way to cap spending without thwarting development of drivers through the existing coaching network (teams or individuals) it would make the idea of super one more enticing. I know people that are competitive at club level for as little as £200 a meeting. Why such a gulf in costs to move into a series where there is some competition?
