The other key factor is how well organised a club is. At some circuits the gap between races can be nearly as long as the races. I was particularly impressed with HKRC's slickness the last time we raced there. Within seconds of the last kart coming in the next session is out. No waiting for recovered karts at the end of a race either, as soon as they are safe proceedings continue.

I've spent far too much time on the dummy grid at other tracks waiting for Godot
