I've just removed my Tony Kart stickers, they were very thick and easily removed but only if you heat them up first. I used a hair dryer and that worked great. I then used one of those green scouring pads with soap and water to remove the old adhesive.

If you are applying new stickers, rub the side pods down with meths then let it dry, this will make the new stickers adhere perfectly.

I have painted mine with Plastikote paint and they're looking good.
