The manual was probably done when they had a quality tools in the workshop and an experienced mechanic.

The tools they supply you aren't meant to be used frequently so you get this:

They do show the unpivoted version being used also and it would be easy to knock one up.

A pivoted C holding tool would probably cost you more than Ł44.00 and can be used for a variety of jobs.
