If you consider our legal system, judges impose a penalty they think appropriate for the offence based on the evidence and circumstances presented to them.

There is no reason the same modus operandi cannot be applied by CoC's or stewards, it's called common sense, sadly lacking in places.

What Richy says is sensible.

The ability to be able to pass a fitting judgement is a skill that has passed them by.

Judges don't work to hard and fast rules, there are minimum and maximum sentences for offences and they use their discretion.

That is why IKR is the only way to go now.

I know why I think this lad was punished in the manner he was but unfortunately it is SO controversial, even I am hesitant about publishing it, and I don't normally hold back.
