If anyone is interested, I made a number of years ago, a test rig for front lasers made from a piece of 25mm solid bar 1m long. It was turned "between centres" on a lathe so as to ensure the ends which were turned down to 17mm were true and parallel to each other. I took it the circuits we had meetings at and offered anyone to check their lasers. The R3's (which were popular at the time) were very easy to adjust.
