Hi everyone,

First post so apologies if this has been covered before.

I've had my 11 year old son on a project one Honda cadet for around 18 months now which he has thoroughly enjoyed.
We're now at the stage where we need to decide whether to do another year on the Honda or to move up a class. He's well above the minimum weight limit of 103kg and getting frustrated so I'm 90% sure it's a good idea to move up.
I had a TKM around 20 years ago but other than that no real experience on short circuit karting.
I am a long circuit karter so have a rough idea on 2 stroke motors and set up.
So it comes down to our choice of class.
Our local non msa circuit has both TKM and mini max grids.
I'd just like to ask for a bit of advice from you guys on where best to spend my money.
Pros and cons of both classes.
I'm guessing tyres and running cost would be fairly similar, I understand the bonus of the start button on the rotax.
Any opinions appreciated.
