It was not the MAKE of helmet that "saved his life"
If possible you need to go to a shop/supplier/dealer who has the biggest range of CMR helmets bell/arai/koden/stilo and get him to try them on and see which one HE feels most comfortable.Then,irrelevant of make,if he says it feels comfortable it should be quite tight to push your fingers up towards his ears,then grab the chin bar to be sure it is quite hard for you to twist round on his head.
For instance,my son wears an arai, but I ride bikes and wear a shoei because arai feel ill fitting and uncomfortable on my head, so it is all about the fit,
