It does look big but don't forget you're drilling out all of the old 5mm thread and tapping a larger thread in which you will insert the 5mm helicoil to restore the original thread size.

When the helicoil is inserted it is stretched lengthways and reduced in diameter by being coiled up. This gives the friction to keep it in place.

Make sure you drill and tap at 80 degrees in both planes to the contact surface so that the bead retainer O ring will sit with equal contact.
