theres definately a disconnect between karting, money and FUN.
When we got our boys first kart , 7 years ago, it was a complete TKM, spares and trailer for Ł500 - we went to our local non MSA track 2-3 times a month, Ł20 a day, had old used tyres and even used cheap 2 stroke oil from Tesco - we had a seriously good time, fun all the way - then we got seduced with speed, MSA, fancy chassis, CNC barrels, MO carbs blah blah blah, 7 years on and we can spend Ł500 a weekend and thats doing it not quite on the cheap but not penny pinching - do we have any where near as much fun? No. do we question what changed, yes. Money. We feel we need 3x our current budget just to get competetive regularly and not the occasional lucky day like we have now. To rob a user name on here, it started out fun, now its just expensive.
