The antiquated nature of this forum means it could never and will never attract young people, so the downward spiral is effectively programmed.

However, Chris rightly says that K1 has suffered the same, so the principal, underlying cause must be another.

The culprit is probably mobile devices; the fact that fewer and fewer now use full-size screens and keyboards: who would ever type out detailed information or a reasoned argument on their phone? Similarly, there are no apps to go with these forums.

The loss to special-interest communities like this sadly looks irreversible.
