The bolt type one is the rear speed sensor and works well, you need to get/make a bracket to fix it to and use the nut and thread to be close to the magnet on the rear axle.

The other one you refer to is a front wheel sensor. I think this is for the Mychron 3 as I brought one and it doesn't work with the Mychron 4. You can use the rear one as a front wheel sensor using a purpose made DIY bracket. I have done both.
