The main cost for the Atol is supposed to be the track side testing rather than the fuel itself.
The price has been about the same for the last couple of years (£40 a can in 2007 and £42 in 2008) so they did bear the cost of the increase so probably no real saving now that the price has come down and although the cost of oil has dropped the fuel duty has not and in fact the duty increased to compensate for the VAT reduction (the Government did this very quietly).
I would be very happy to pay less for Atol but this has been discussed on the forum many times in the past and thry have been the only company willing to quote for the fuel supply/testing.
