It all depends on the track, only an idiot would have touched the kurbs at the track in that video as they would have been launched. I have no doubt that if that 1980's kart race took place at a modern track such as PF, the entire field would be using the kurb on the penultimate corner.

Seemingly over the years kurbs have become lower and easier to use, if they wanted us to stay off them surely they would have left them as they were!
