Well, I hear what you are saying John, but take a look at the interest the newly formed 125 challenge has generated? The ruling is basically as long as the karts are safe and meet the current safety standards they are eligible to race.
Last season we raced a 1992 ARC TKM kart in the OEKC (a great series) and that was running 4th in a field of Rotax & Bilands so the way I see it is if a good bunch of karts turn up and are paying their dues, and more importantly agree to allowing older outfits to run, then where is the problem? Especially if it increases grid numbers.
