If it is new it will not read correctly until the exhaust up to temperature, ie on the track, won't indicate running the engine on the trolley. If used what type of engine has it been used on? If it is a two/stroke the life of the sensor will be compromised by the oil in the exhaust. You can 'recover' the sensor using a blowtorch to gently heat the sensor, but it will only work for a little while longer. I bought one guessing this would happen, it lasted half a season.
