as a person who has damaged hearing and now wears two hearing aids ( im only 44 ) please take all precautions possible.
it never ceases to amaze me tht most of my fellow marshals ( and clerks ) who are exposed to kart noise constantly throuout the weekend dont wear ear defenders.
I wear ear defenders whenever marshaling as its the only way of being able to hear the radio calls when karts are screaming past constantly.without the protection you could easily miss a red flag call etc.

as the post from graham and the year book states if your driver was an employee instead of your son / daughter you would be in breach od H & s legislation and be subject to a very large fine.

take care of your hearing as also stated damage is perminant.
