I'm not implying it is because its a different heat capacity. But Aluminium and Magnesium do having different specific heat capacities (magnesium is higher). Effectively meaning it would take more energy to heat up a magnesium block of the same weight by a kelvin then it would to heat up a block of aluminium. Of course there's more to it with wheels (shapes, density and therefore weight). Its more about volumetric heat capacity, which is even more different between aluminium and magnesium.

But implying there is no difference between magnesium's heat retention and aluminium is just plain wrong.
