You need to change it all over to the new type stuff AND BARS, so the front of the chassis will need some welding done to put the new bracket on, But you might get away with just clamping on one of these instead - http://www.kartstore.co.uk/detail.cfm?item_id=2030&cat_id=1600&sub_id=undefined - then everything should be ok, although you might need to do some bending to the lower front bumper rail, to stop it rubbing.
