I'd say that a small box trailer is your best option - Strap the kart on top and all your dirty spares etc inside. I have seen several very cheap trailers on the marketplace over the last few months.
I have only ever towed with an octavia, but since I can hardly even tell my small trailer + kart is there when towing, I imagine you'd get away with a small and not particularly powerful car without too much trouble.

Why not just get a second hand roof rack for your corsa for now? Once you take off the engine it's not hard to get the kart on the roof with 2 pairs of hands. Just keep an eye on the maximum weight the rack allows you to carry, especially if you have a lot of lead on the kart.
