It's not a hobby! Racing is a way of life! Karting, Tin-tops, motogp etc.. (Not bangers lol) It's all a way of life, not a hobby =D lol

If i were you i'd just explain that the karts aren't like the arrive n drive one for parties/stags/hens etc... that there a lot more power and could give a lambo a good run for their money up to 60/70mph, (bit optimistic, unless it's a gearbox kart, but that should give them the idea it's serious)
